Our Story
Journey Southwest Resort was born from a deep love of this land and a desire to share it. As a member of the Navajo Nation, married to mountain loving man from Wyoming and South Dakota, this land is more than a backdrop — it's my heritage, and I love nothing more than sharing it with those who are curious, respectful, and ready to experience the desert Southwest in a way most never get to.
We call it luxury camping, but what we really offer is a genuine connection — to nature, to place, and to the living culture of the people who have always called this corner of New Mexico home. I invite you into the desert landscape my people have called home for generations — a place of beauty, stillness, and stories carried on the wind.
Here, luxury camping means waking to the sounds of the Animas River, sleeping beneath a sky full of stars, and experiencing the arid Southwest not as a visitor passing through, but as a guest who truly arrives.

What We Offer
Each tent is appointed with everything you need and nothing you don't — a plush queen bed, comfortable seating, and a cozy breakfast nook with a propane burner for your morning coffee or tea. Fresh towels are provided for the outdoor shower, and solar lighting keeps the ambiance warm after dark. A battery bank keeps your phone, camera, or laptop charged so you can capture every moment — or stay connected just enough.

But even if you are wanting maybe something you are accustom to, there are international cuisine and diners that do not disappoint. Wind down the day with a pint at a nearby microbrewery, where local craft and good company flow as freely as the river.
Bath house with showers and comfort amenities
Our private bathhouse offers a comfortable, communal space to freshen up, with all the amenities you'd expect and hot water whenever you need it. We're proudly off-grid, so we ask guests to be mindful of water use — though a refreshing end-of-day shower is absolutely non-negotiable. For those who prefer a little sky overhead, our outdoor showers feature on-demand heaters — a warm rinse with a view.
